Racheal studied in Canberra in the early seventies under Allan Peascod and Bill Samuels and on completion she opened a studio & gallery with Bernd Weise in Bungendore, close to Canberra, producing tableware and homewares. In the late 70’s Racheal also worked as a production potter for Lyrebird Ridge Pottery & Javeenbah Pottery for 12 months honing her skills in all aspects of the pottery process. She completed her post graduate degree in the late 80's at the Sydney College of the Arts.
Racheal has also done a significant amount of teaching - initially at Kogarah and Liverpool TAFE and then later took on a role of senior lecturer in Ceramics at Sydney University for 9 years.
Along with her husband she owned and operated their own graphic design business for 30 years, and started and operated an award winning restaurant for 8 years, before returning to working with clay in 2019. She is truly a woman of much energy and many talents. Her pottery is creative, unique and original.
Racheal's comments to me for this bio were " I am hopelessly in love with clay and so happy to have my own studio and be making again". I think that is obvious in her work,
